There he serves as the STScI Deputy Project Scientist for the soon-to-be-launched Nancy Grade Roman Space Telescope. As Deputy Project Scientist, he is responsible for ensuring the science community is prepared to maximize the scientific return from Roman. Ori also manages his own research group, Transient Science at Space Telescope (TSST), along with Armin Rest and Lou Strolger. This research group has a diverse range of interests within the field of Time Domain Astronomy, with a particular focus on supernovae (SNe). Ori is most focused on high-redshift events, dusty SNe, and other kinds of infrared transients. His research utilizes data from Hubble, Roman, Euclid, Spitzer, Chandra, and soon Roman. Ori received his BA from Boston University in 2003 and his PhD from the University of Virginia in 2010. He is excited for this opportunity to work with students at the ARCO at the Open University.
