I am a theoretical physicist working at the interface of Cosmology and High Energy Physics. I strive to understand physical processes that describe the Universe as a single system, contrary to the rest of Physics research that usually deals with subsystems of the Universe. There are four known fundamental forces in Nature - gravity, electromagnetism, the weak nuclear force, and the strong nuclear force. Thus, the two main tools at our disposal are General Relativity to describe gravity, and Quantum Field Theory for the three other forces. I am specifically interested in accelerated epochs of the Universe such as Inflation, that occurred in a split second after the Big Bang, or the present acceleration that is usually called "Dark Energy". I also consider alternatives to Inflation such as a Bouncing Universe, and I am interested in generalizations of General Relativity. An important probe for these themes are gravitational waves, directly discovered in 2016. LISA is a planned gravitational waves experiment, and I am part of the LISA Cosmology Working Group. In the past I was a joint postdoc at CITA/Perimeter Institute, Toronto, Canada, and a postdoc at DESY, Hamburg, Germany. In 2021-2022 I spent a sabbatical year at Cal Berkeley.
